My new road trainers, new shorts, new t- shirt and of course the sore throat and blues. I was concerned that my sore throat wouldn't arrive in time but luckily it has and fortunately its made me feel knackered and down. And the blues have come in time, captain paranoia is sitting on my shoulder asking me if I've done enough training for snowdon. I keep telling myself I've done enough but i question myself. Mileage is a big issue for me, sometimes i go out for approx 4 hrs and living in mountains and running on difficult trails i could only cover approx 20 miles but that 20 miles totals to approx 23 miles if done on the flat.
Things are not good in Andrew's running world at the moment, even to the point of jacking it all in and just enjoying running with jasper, do i do snowdonia.........?

omg! it must be a bug that i've passed on!
ReplyDeleteandrew..with all that training snowdonia will be no problem for you..just remember to save some for that hill they put near the end..then you can blast the off road bit and descent easy!
with three weeks to go its all in the bag now with the long runs..you can only overtrain now..so if you're feeling out of sorts..maybe chill for a few days until you've recovered..then i'd suggest a few race pace runs, some hills and a few tempos.
i suffer from taper madness too like you are now..all i can suggest is you keep looking over you running log if you have one to remind yourself of all the training you've done..and you have done a load! so dont worry
take a leaf out of jaspers book..bet he's wondering what all the fuss is about. in his world he just goes out and enjoys it..we should do the same! easy to say though ;)
Thanks for the kind words dave, your right i think i will take a few days off, and take i leaf out of jasper's book
